September 2nd - Monday

Last day :/ Last day to scope out deals in the dealer's room (found paperback books for 25¢!). Last day to wander the art room (I didn't get the artwork I had bid on). Last day to pester the people manning the LA in '06 table. Oh, and last day to try to get to some panels :-) Netted a free book -- Kim Stanley Robinson's YEARS OF RICE AND SALT.

More miscellaneous pictures

Waved at David Gerrold (and yelled, "Kill me good!") while picking up Chinese food for dinner in the suite, which was our version of an O*W*C Dead Dog Party. Then we trooped off for the official ConJose Dead Dog Party over at the Fairmont. They must have found money -- pallets and pallets of soft drinks and water were in the room along with a standing room only crowd.

After intimately sharing a pretzel with JD (*that* picture is over on his site!), we decided to play in the fountains one more time and then start the dreaded job of packing up

Gripes about ConJose - (1) the restaurant guide (no hours listed, NO MAP. And what do "Cheap$", "Reasonable$$", or "Expensive$$" mean in a dollar range?) (2) the daily newsletters were basically non-informative (3) the dealer's room didn't open until 11 AM. Other notes - Glasgow (Intersection 2005) easily won the vote, running unopposed. Dates are August 4-8, 2005.
