started work on it in late 1993, I

Saturn. However, at the same time, NASA was
AllenS1146:	going through a lot of problems: the loss of Mars Observer, the
near-loss of the Space Station program

on the skids again, and so forth.
AllenS1146:	Finally, I said to myself, "What the heck am I doing writing
about people in 2076 when we can't even..

festering in my mind for some time, so I
AllenS1146:	ditched the Saturn novel and, two weeks later, began work on TTA.
It was very hard work, mainly
AllenS1146:	because I was writing out of anger and frustration, and when I
was done, it felt like I had screamed
AllenS1146:	on paper for ten months. I'm glad you liked it; it was the
